The collective term for the four Service police forces being the Royal Naval Police, the Royal Marines Police, the Royal Military Police and the Royal Air Force Police. The Ministry of Defence Police (MDP) is a civilian police force controlled by the MOD with powers similar to the Home Office police. The MDP only has powers in the United Kingdom whilst the Service Police have jurisdiction over members of the Armed Forces and UK based civilians anywhere in the world.
