We will help you:
- File a petition for divorce: apply to court for permission to divorce. You must give reason(s) for wanting a divorce.
- Apply for a decree nisi: a document saying that there is no reason why you can’t divorce.
- Apply for a decree absolute: finalising your divorce.
If you receive a divorce petition, where your husband or wife has filed divorce proceedings against you, we can represent you as the respondent.
We understand that this can be a distressing process and we will help you try and achieve a divorce or dissolution in an amicable manner, while firmly representing your interests.
We can also assist with all aspects including finances and children.
It is worth remembering that while a marriage has the effect of making a Will void, a subsequent divorce will also change its effect. It is a good idea to review and update your Will at this point. Our Wills & Probate team will be happy to assist.
